Catherine first came to yoga (or perhaps yoga came to her) while travelling in Thailand in 2018. Since then, she has enjoyed exploring & learning from a wide range of yoga practices at studios across the UK & further afield. Her own practice has been shaped by trying many different styles, including Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Iyengar, Rocket, Ashtanga & Kundalini, with a spirit of curiosity & play.

While her early practice focused on developing physical asana, its deeper impact in her life has come through breathwork & meditation. These aspects have supported a greater sense of grounding & calm, both on & off the mat, and she hopes to be able to share this with others through her teaching.

In 2025, Catherine deepened her practice by completing her 200-hour teacher training on a course that prioritised invitational, accessible yoga. Her teaching is rooted in offering choice, thoughtful use of props & adaptations, and creating a welcoming space where all students can benefit from the practice in a way that feels right for them.

Em’s yoga journey began over a decade ago with an Iyengar class, which provided a wonderful grounding in good posture & safe alignment. She was immediately hooked and her curiosity soon led her to discover other styles and more about the significance of yogic lifestyle & philosophy.

As a travel lover, Em has been fortunate to practise in many studios across the globe. Along the way, she’s developed a deep appreciation for the universality of yoga and how it reminds us of our interconnectedness.

Drawing inspiration from all her lovely teachers, Em has been particularly influenced by her Jivamukti teachers and community from her second 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in South Africa.

Em’s teaching style combines breath awareness, fluid movement and a touch of playfulness. She strives to create a friendly, supportive environment where everyone feels welcome and seen. As she continues to grow as a student and teacher, Em hopes to share with others the hugely positive effects yoga has had on her life.
